Change of Life

Unfortunately due to a recent change of life, got a job as a legal assistant at a local law firm, I will not be able to spend the amount of time I had planned on this blog. Because of this I only plan to update this blog every other week and I will no longer put as much thought into each post. From now on I will speak in plain and simple English with almost no artistic influence. This is to be only an information blog and nothing more. That being said I am  still working had on a spec script for Law&Order. I feel that the show has established characters in ever changing conditions that allow the writer to insert more of his/her original characters and plot. After I finish the fist draft I will post it here for all to read and tear apart(that's just what first drafts are for).

Explanation

I would like to start by apologizing for my vague, artsy, and otherwise uninformative last post. I plan to write three to four spec scripts for the purpose of applying for two different writing fellowships. I will not name the fellowships on here for personal reasons, but if you would like to know what they are just send me a message and I'll be glad to pass on the information I have.

I plan to update this blog every Friday between five and ten p.m. This will help me keep a log on my writing and how I'm using my time.  I'm also hoping that this will keep me writing, it gets too easy to just let voluntary work slide if no one knows your doing it.

Also I would like to say thank you to all of my followers and every one who commented on my last post. It can really help to know that some one is out there reading this. If you would like to help please click the ads on this page. The only cost associated with what I'm doing are pens, paper, printing, and the occasional late library book(my local library has a killer reference section) so just a few clicks is all it takes to keep me in pencils and legal pads for a long time.

The Long and Lonely Road

I have to say that this is all a little intimidating. I've been writing scripts and short stories for years but never for profit, never to be read by anyone other than a few close friends. To be honest the whole thing feels a little romantic, like the young knight setting out on a dangerous quest that will inevitably lead to glory and fame. Thats not how the world works tho is it? Their is no guarantee that no matter how hard I work or how much I want it the odds have it I will be turned down. I'm keeping this blog as kind of a journal that will hold me accountable. Once or twice a week I will post updates as to my progress to help me keep perspective of time management. I have until January of 2011 to have a finished spec script ready for submission.
